FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – A new injury was reported at the sea caves in Ayia Napa on Monday afternoon, despite ongoing warnings and a strict ban on diving in the area.
The Joint Rescue Coordination Center said the incident occurred at 5:20 p.m. near the popular but hazardous Cape Greco sea caves.
Firefighters from the Famagusta District Fire Service retrieved the injured individual, who was then transported by ambulance to Famagusta General Hospital for first aid and further treatment.
Authorities reiterated that approaching or diving at the sea caves is strictly prohibited, citing serious safety risks.
A geological survey by the Department of Geological Survey has classified the terrain as dangerous due to advanced erosion.
