US President Donald Trump says he spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin by phone about ending the war in Ukraine, The New York Post reports.
The New York Post interviewed Trump aboard the president’s Air Force One.
The newspaper asked the president how many times he had spoken with Putin. “It’s best not to tell,” Trump replied.
‘[Putin] wants people to stop dying,’ Trump says.
Trump also said that he has “always had a good relationship with Putin” and that he has concrete plans to end the war.
‘I want it to happen quickly. People are dying every day. This war in Ukraine is really bad. I want this damn thing to end.’
