Turkey has reiterated its long‑standing position in favor of a two‑state solution in Cyprus.
President Nikos Christodoulides was briefed on the issue by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on the sidelines of the informal meeting of EU leaders in Alden Biesen, Belgium, following Mitsotakis’s talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara.
Mitsotakis repeated Greece’s position that negotiations should resume under United Nations parameters from the point where they broke off in 2017 at Crans‑Montana.
The same source said Erdoğan restated Turkey’s established positions without any shift in stance.
