AGADIR – Two people were killed and several others injured Wednesday when Moroccan security forces opened fire on a group of young men attempting to storm a gendarmerie building near the town of Lqilaa, authorities said.
The group reportedly tried to seize weapons from the national police and security force. Officers responded with tear gas and live ammunition.
Local officials confirmed the fatalities but did not specify the number of injured. The incident marks a sharp escalation in recent anti-government demonstrations across the country.
