Two people were killed and another was injured in a stabbing‑ramming attack in northern Israel on Friday, according to Israeli police, emergency services and local media.
Magen David Adom said an 18‑year‑old woman and a 68‑year‑old man were killed. A teenager was wounded and taken to a hospital.
Police said an initial investigation showed the incident was a “rolling terror attack” that began in Beit Shean, near the northern edge of the West Bank, and ended at Maonot Junction near the city of Afula, where the attacker was “neutralized.”
The Israeli military said a preliminary probe indicated the assailant was a Palestinian “who had infiltrated into Israeli territory” several days earlier. Hebrew‑language media reported the attacker was from Qabatiya, a town in the northern West Bank.
The Times of Israel reported that Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered the army to act “forcefully and immediately” in Qabatiya, and that additional troops were preparing to enter the town.
