U.S. Scales Back Military Aid to Eastern European Border States

The United States is reducing military support for Eastern European countries bordering Russia, part of a broader push to shift more defense responsibility onto European allies.

The Pentagon recently informed diplomats that it will no longer fund training and equipment programs for frontline states in the event of a conflict with Russia.

The change reflects a strategic recalibration aimed at encouraging Europe to invest more heavily in its own security infrastructure.

Current funding remains in place through next autumn, but no new allocations have been requested. Once existing resources are exhausted, the support will end.

The move affects several nations along NATO’s eastern flank, raising concerns among officials in the region amid ongoing tensions with Moscow.
