UNICEF has said that around 61,000 children have been killed or maimed since the Israel-Palestine conflict erupted two years ago.
Spokesperson Ricardo Pires told reporters that one child has been harmed every 17 minutes, calling the toll “unacceptable” and “staggering.”
He said Gaza’s health system is overwhelmed, with premature babies sharing oxygen masks and aid teams unable to retrieve incubators due to access restrictions.
UNICEF urged immediate action to protect children and deliver life-saving equipment.
