Indirect cease-fire negotiations between Hamas and Israel remained “difficult and complex” Tuesday, as talks entered their second day in Egypt.
Palestinian sources said discussions are focused on launching the first phase of a U.S.-backed plan that includes hostage releases, disarmament of Hamas, and Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.
Hamas has agreed to release hostages but has not responded to key Israeli conditions. Technical teams are reviewing maps and prisoner lists.
U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are expected to join the talks Wednesday.
