A 21‑year‑old man from India was hospitalized Monday after being stabbed in the neck during an altercation in Nicosia, police said.
Authorities said the man arrived at Nicosia General Hospital’s emergency department around 12:15 p.m. with a neck wound.
He underwent surgery and remains in stable condition and out of danger.
According to initial findings, the victim and another man who was with him were attacked by a group of five people under circumstances still under investigation.
During an argument, one member of the group allegedly struck the 21‑year‑old with a sharp object and punched the second man in the nose.
Police said the suspected attacker fled on foot, while the other four stayed at the scene and helped the injured man.
