Police have arrested a 40‑year‑old man in connection with a series of recent home burglaries in the Limassol district, authorities said.
The suspect was located at midday in the Linopetra area, where two break‑ins had occurred earlier in the day. Officers from the Limassol CID searched him and found a screwdriver, along with a bag containing jewellery and perfumes later identified as stolen property from one of the burgled homes.
He was initially detained for an in‑flagrante offence, and a court warrant was subsequently issued linking him to five separate cases: two home burglaries and thefts committed on May 14 in Mesa Geitonia and on May 20 in Linopetra; two attempted burglaries on May 14 in Mesa Geitonia and May 15 in Germasogeia; and another burglary with intent to steal committed on May 20 in Linopetra.
Police are also investigating charges of impersonation and possession of forged documents after two passports were found in his possession, both bearing his photograph but with different identifying details.
