FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Cyprus welcomed 25,000 visitors for sports tourism in the past 12 months, either for international competitions or training purposes, according to data from the Deputy Ministry of Tourism.
Deputy Minister Costas Koumis highlighted the need for greater investment in the sector.
One factor contributing to strong tourism in recent years has been improved air connectivity, Koumis said, adding that the key to success over the last two years has been increasing the frequency of existing flight routes.
