FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – A 55-year-old woman from Sri Lanka was killed in a traffic accident early Tuesday morning in Lakatamia.
According to police, the crash occurred at 7 a.m. on Archbishop Makarios Avenue under circumstances still under investigation.
The woman, who was driving a car, collided with a lorry driven by a 27-year-old man.
Emergency responders transported the victim to Nicosia General Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead.
Police arrested the lorry driver under a court warrant, and he remains in custody as investigations continue.
