FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – A 46-year-old man was sentenced to life in prison by the Dhekelia Sovereign Base Area Court on Monday for the premeditated murder of Charalambos Constantinides.
Kostas Soteriou was convicted of killing the 52-year-old Paralimni resident on June 25, 2024.
The trial was presided over by three senior judges from Britain’s Assize Court.
The court handed down a life sentence, in line with Cypriot law for premeditated murder. However, under the UK legal system, judges ruled that Soteriou must serve a minimum of 27 years and 37 days before being eligible to apply for release.
