FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – The much-anticipated e-kalathi app officially launches today, marking a new step in digital consumer services in Cyprus.
At a 12:00 PM press conference, Commerce and Industry Minister Giorgos Papastasiou will formally announce the platform’s operation. Earlier in the day, the Council of Ministers is expected to give final approval.
Designed to help consumers compare prices of essential goods, e-kalathi provides real-time price listings from supermarkets across Cyprus.
The platform includes a mobile app and website, allowing users to track costs and find the best deals on everyday products. Supermarkets with an annual turnover above €5 million are required to participate, ensuring broad coverage.
Papastasiou said a two-to-three-day information campaign will follow to help consumers fully understand how to use the app.
