FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Health Minister Michalis Damianos visited two burn victims receiving treatment at Nicosia General Hospital, describing their condition as serious but not critical.
One, a 69-year-old man, suffered burns over 35% of his body, while the second—an unnamed woman—sustained milder injuries.
Damianos stated that a total of 50 individuals have received first aid at emergency stations—38 yesterday and 12 today. Most cases were related to respiratory complications caused by smoke inhalation.
Limassol General Hospital treated 16 patients for breathing issues or minor injuries, with five requiring hospitalisation. Troodos Hospital reported two additional respiratory cases.
The minister assured the public that sufficient beds remain available and all necessary medical specialists have been mobilised and are on duty.
