NICOSIA – United Nations envoy María Ángela Holguín is concluding her final round of meetings in Nicosia before traveling to New York for the UN General Assembly, where a trilateral meeting is expected to take place between UN Secretary-General António Guterres, Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides and Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar.
Government spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis said Friday that the UN has proposed Sept. 27 as the date for the meeting, following Holguín’s talks with Christodoulides.
Holguín is scheduled to visit the north on Tuesday for a meeting with Tatar at 11 a.m.
She will also hold separate meetings with the negotiators from both sides: Menelaos Menelaou on Tuesday and Güneş Onar on Wednesday.
