President Donald Trump has ordered 400 members of the Texas National Guard to be deployed to Illinois, Oregon, and other states, according to Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker on Sunday.
In a post on social media, Pritzker urged Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to immediately withdraw support for the directive and refuse cooperation, Reuters reports.
Pritzker condemned the move, saying it violates the principle of state sovereignty.
“No one from the federal government has contacted me to discuss or coordinate this,” Pritzker wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “We need to start calling this ‘Trump’s invasion.’”
