A key coastal highway in the city of Zawiya, about 60 kilometers west of Tripoli, was closed Thursday evening after armed groups exchanged fire, local media reported.
Al‑Masar television said fighters from the 103rd Infantry Battalion, known as “Al‑Silaa,” clashed with forces from Zawiya’s First Support Force.
No casualties were immediately reported, and authorities have not issued statements on the cause of the confrontation.
