The Amman Chamber of Commerce said Friday the number of certificates of origin it issued in the first 11 months of 2025 rose 5.4% from a year earlier, while the value of those exports fell slightly.

The chamber issued 38,275 certificates, up from 36,325 in the same period last year. The value declined 3% to 1.237 billion dinars from 1.275 billion.

Iraq was the largest buyer, importing goods worth about 540 million dinars on 3,207 certificates. Saudi Arabia followed with 100 million dinars and 9,625 certificates, then Egypt with 86.2 million dinars, Switzerland with 86.1 million and Syria with 76 million.

Exports included 606 million dinars of foreign‑origin goods, 232 million of industrial products, 173 million of agricultural goods and 103 million of Arab‑origin goods.

Certificates of origin are used in international trade to verify the country of production or processing of goods. ■
