FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Beer exports from Cyprus dropped sharply by 24.2% in June, according to figures released by the country’s Statistical Service. The downturn comes amid shifting international demand and increased competition in regional markets.
Despite the export decline, domestic beer consumption rose modestly by 1.5%, highlighting the enduring popularity of local brews across the island.
Cyprus has a small but steadily growing beer industry, anchored by a handful of established breweries and a rising wave of craft producers. While larger brands like KEO and Leon have dominated local taps for decades, new microbreweries are bringing fresh styles and international flair to the scene, from pale ales to Mediterranean-infused lagers.
