The Republic of Cyprus is calling for de‑escalation, restraint and a solution grounded in international law as tensions rise in Venezuela.

Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos said in a post on X that the Cypriot government is closely monitoring the situation in coordination with the European Union and other partners. He added that Nicosia remains in close contact with the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas.

Kombos also noted that Cyprus’ long‑standing travel advisory urging citizens to avoid all travel to Venezuela remains in effect. “If necessary,” he said, authorities are prepared to provide consular assistance to Cypriot nationals.
