A 22‑year‑old man accused of attempting to kill a 47‑year‑old businessman last July is due to appear again before the Larnaca Permanent Criminal Court on Monday.
He faces nine charges, including attempted murder and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. Police arrested him on November 17.
Investigators say the suspect dropped a neck garment while fleeing the scene of the shooting on July 31. DNA found on the item allegedly links him to the attack.
Police sources also said video recovered from the suspect’s mobile phone appears to show that he had been monitoring the businessman both before and after the attempted killing. The footage reportedly includes recordings of locations the victim visited, along with spoken descriptions.
The case remains under investigation.
