Police have arrested a 29‑year‑old man in connection with an ongoing investigation into an assault that caused grievous and actual bodily harm, as well as threats and theft from a residence.
The victim, a 39‑year‑old man, is being treated at a private hospital in Limassol.
The attack occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, February 5, 2026, in Limassol. At around 7 p.m., police received a report of an injured man on a street in the city. Officers arrived to find two men, aged 23 and 41.
According to their statements, the owner of the residence where they live had visited earlier and allegedly threatened them, demanding they leave the property. A short time later, the owner reportedly returned accompanied by several masked individuals.
Seeing the group, the 23‑year‑old, the 41‑year‑old and their 39‑year‑old roommate fled. The masked men allegedly chased them, eventually catching and assaulting the 41‑year‑old and the 39‑year‑old.
The 39‑year‑old suffered a laceration to the head, a skull fracture, rib fractures and other injuries. He was taken by ambulance to a private hospital, where he remains under treatment.
The complainants later discovered that €3,000 had been stolen from their home.
Police investigations led to testimony implicating the 29‑year‑old suspect, who was arrested under a court warrant and taken into custody.
