Developments continue in the investigation into a torture case linked to a casino in Pyla, after video footage showing seven people being abused was reportedly found on the mobile phone of a 48‑year‑old suspect.

Alithia reported that the suspect, a 48‑year‑old Greek Cypriot, was brought before a court, and that disclosures made during the hearing have drawn significant public attention. Police in Larnaca are continuing their inquiries.

The paper said authorities have identified some of the individuals seen being tortured in the footage, and investigators are working to identify all persons appearing in the videos and obtain statements from them.

Police have already arrested a 27‑year‑old foreign national in connection with the case, and another foreign suspect is still being sought, the report added.
