Deputy Minister to the President Irini Piki traveled to London earlier this week to speak at an international investment forum organized by Invest Cyprus in cooperation with the Financial Times, the Presidency said.
The event, titled “Investing in Cyprus: Risk, returns and FDI flows in the innovation corridor,” was held Feb. 26 at Bracken House and brought together fund managers, private‑market investors, institutional representatives and business executives from the United Kingdom and Europe.
Piki took part in a panel discussion on the investment landscape in the Eastern Mediterranean and the outlook for foreign direct investment amid shifting global economic conditions. In her remarks, she outlined the government’s priorities for strengthening the credibility of the Cypriot economy, advancing reforms aimed at improving the business environment and attracting high‑quality investment to support sustainable growth and economic diversification.
She also highlighted Cyprus’ role as a European economy and a stable hub in a region of growing geoeconomic importance, stressing the country’s contribution to connectivity, the energy transition and broader regional cooperation.
The Presidency said her participation reflected the government’s strategy of expanding Cyprus’ international presence and promoting the island as a center of stability and opportunity, with the aim of increasing foreign investment flows and deepening economic ties with strategic partners. It added that these efforts were linked to creating more quality jobs and delivering tangible benefits to citizens.
