Consultations on Cyprus’ planned pension reform are continuing at the Labour Advisory Body, with Labour and Social Insurance Minister Marinos Moushiouttas saying alternative options to the current 12% actuarial reduction will be presented in upcoming meetings.
Moushiouttas said the government still aims to submit the reform bill to parliament in June 2026, with implementation planned for 2027.
He described the pension overhaul as a “landmark change” that society has long needed, saying the goals include raising low pensions, improving benefits and reducing gender‑based inequalities in the system.
