Livestock farmers in Cyprus say they may step up their protests from Thursday, warning that they could even block ports and airports during the European Council summit due to be held on the island.
Speaking on CyBC Radio, Stella Petrou — a representative of a group of farmers — accused authorities of lacking a clear strategy and frequently changing their decisions.
She said as many as half of all producers may not return to the sector because of the financial strain and the psychological impact of the crisis.
