President Nikos Christodoulides continued his state visit to India on Thursday, arriving in New Delhi in the afternoon after a stop in Mumbai.
He is scheduled to hold further meetings with the country’s top political leadership.
At the New Delhi airport he was received by India’s minister of transport. A military honor guard was present and the national anthems of both countries were played.
On Friday morning, Christodoulides will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He will also meet President Droupadi Murmu. Earlier in the day he is expected to meet India’s foreign minister, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
The president will also visit the Gandhi Memorial, where he will lay a wreath.
