The U.N. Secretary‑General’s personal envoy on Cyprus, María Ángela Holguín, will arrive on the island on the afternoon of Saturday, June 6, and is scheduled to hold separate meetings with the two leaders on Monday, June 8, according to Cypriot state radio.
Holguín is expected to discuss “both the substance and confidence‑building measures” with the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot leaders.
After her visit to Cyprus, she is due to travel to Greece and Turkey.
Holguín last visited the island on Jan. 28, when she held both separate and joint meetings with President Nikos Christodoulides and the Turkish Cypriot leader, focusing largely on confidence‑building steps. Since then, the two leaders have met three times, most recently on May 8.
