Cyprus inaugurates new Neurology and Genetics Institute building

President Nikos Christodoulides said Wednesday that the opening of the new building of the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics marks a milestone for both the institute and the country.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, he said the facility — spanning more than 11,000 square meters and costing €31 million — represents one of Cyprus’s most significant recent investments in research and health.

Christodoulides said the project was co‑funded by the Republic of Cyprus and the European Investment Bank, demonstrating the importance of cooperation between the state and European institutions.

He added that government support for the institute is continuous and a deliberate policy choice that will carry on.
