Cyprus, Lebanon agree on terms for study on possible power‑grid link

The energy ministers of Cyprus and Lebanon have agreed on the terms of reference for a preliminary study on a potential electricity interconnection between the two countries.

Cypriot Energy Minister Michalis Damianos and Lebanese Energy Minister Joseph Al‑Sandi said the agreement forms part of ongoing discussions to deepen bilateral energy cooperation and assess the viability of a future link.

In a joint statement, the ministers said the study would provide a reliable basis for evaluating the project and support broader efforts to strengthen regional energy cooperation, bolster energy security and promote sustainable economic development in the Eastern Mediterranean.
