Police remove caravans and unauthorized structures from Larnaca beach

Authorities, assisted by police, carried out an early‑morning operation to clear caravans and unauthorized structures from a beach near the Larnaca Nautical Club. The move followed an ultimatum from the Interior Minister ordering those occupying the area illegally to leave.

The action came days after the Larnaca District Administration issued final notices to individuals who had placed caravans and other constructions on the beach without permission.

Officials said four caravans had been removed by mid‑morning, and large boulders were placed at the entrance to block further vehicle access.

A similar operation is planned for a nearby beach where wooden huts have been built illegally.

The case has drawn strong public reaction after complaints about the unlawful occupation of public land, hygiene concerns, and obstruction of free access to the coast.
