First, a journalist from the Associated Press (AP) news agency was denied access to a ceremony at the White House where President Donald Trump signed executive orders.
Now journalists from the news agency will also be excluded from meetings in the Oval Office, AP reports.
According to Reuters, AP will also be excluded from meetings taking place on the president’s private plane, Air Force One.
The reason is that the news agency maintains its coverage of the Gulf of Mexico.
“We’re excluding them until they agree with us that it’s the American Gulf,” Trump said Wednesday night during a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago residence.
In January, Trump signed an executive order directing the US Department of the Interior to change the name of the waters to the American Gulf.
