FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said Europe is working to reduce its reliance on China, following his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington on Thursday, CNN reports.
Merz stated that the ongoing tariff dispute between the U.S. and the EU was a key topic in his discussions with Trump. He noted that the tariffs are severely affecting German car manufacturers.
After the White House meeting, Merz expressed his satisfaction with the dialogue, saying he found Trump to be a leader with whom he could communicate well on a personal level.
