FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Pakistani security forces killed 54 terrorists attempting to infiltrate from Afghanistan over two nights, the military said last night.
The incidents occurred along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in North Waziristan district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the infiltrators were surrounded and killed after intense exchanges of fire.
Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the scene. The ISPR noted this marked the highest number of terrorists killed in a single engagement since Pakistan’s counter-terrorism campaign began.
“Security forces of Pakistan remain determined and committed to securing the country’s borders and eradicating the menace of terrorism,” the ISPR stated.
