A crisis management center is reportedly being established in Cyprus.
The Fileleftheros newspaper notes that civil defense, police, fire department, ambulances (emergency services) and the forestry department will be put on the same platform with the establishment of a national crisis management.
Noting that the aim is to manage crises and emergencies more quickly, the newspaper stated that within this framework, the “112” emergency number will be transformed into “112 New Generation” and civil defense will evolve into civil protection.
The newspaper added that French experts have been in Cyprus for four months and that work is continuing on transforming civil defence into civil protection.
