Cyprus will begin repatriation flights for Cypriot nationals located in areas affected by the Middle East crisis, Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis has said.
Letymbiotis also announced that, following President Nikos Christodoulides’ recent call with the German chancellor to explore possible German support for Cyprus’ preventive security measures — similar to assistance already provided by France and Greece — the chiefs of the armed forces of the two countries held operational‑level discussions earlier in the day.
The Cypriot and German defense ministers are scheduled to speak on Thursday to finalize and clarify the form of Germany’s contribution, he said.
