Egyptian media report that an agreement has been reached to release all Palestinian prisoners who were supposed to be freed last week in exchange for the remains of four Israeli hostages.
Hamas confirmed the information, stating that the agreement is part of the first phase of the ceasefire deal with Israel.
An Israeli official also confirmed the agreement to the Times of Israel, noting that the release of Palestinian prisoners will take place via Egypt.
On Sunday, Hamas accused Israel of jeopardizing the ceasefire by delaying the release of Palestinian prisoners.
The delay was justified by the manner in which Israeli hostages were released.
While Hamas handed over six hostages on Saturday, Israel postponed the planned release of over 600 prisoners.
