FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Legal hearings began Monday at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague to determine whether Israel is violating international law by blocking emergency aid to Gaza.
Norway introduced the proposal in December at the UN General Assembly, asking the ICJ to assess Israel’s suspension of aid.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar described the assessment as an attempt to “persecute Israel.” Meanwhile, the Palestinian representative argued that the blockade is being used as a weapon against Gaza.
The hearings will continue over five days.
