President Christodoulides announced that the extraordinary European Council on March 6 in Brussels will address developments in Ukraine and the need to bolster the defense and security of EU member states.
Speaking at the Presidential Palace during a session with the newly established Defense Industry Council, Christodoulides emphasized the unanimous approach of EU members to enhance the European defense industry through cooperation and partnerships.
He also stated that Cyprus will soon implement its own defense plans, ensuring the participation of Cypriot companies in the production of equipment programs purchased by Cyprus.

The Cypriot defense industry has reached a stage where it can produce products to strengthen the country’s defense and other services, according to Minister of Defense Vassilis Palmas.
At the aforementioned meeting, Palmas emphasized that the government’s decision to establish this advisory body will enhance the knowledge and experience needed to further boost the Cypriot defense industry.
