FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – At least 21 people were killed and 34 others injured Saturday when a passenger bus overturned on a road south of Shiraz, according to state media.
The accident happened in Fars province, though officials have not yet confirmed the cause. Emergency crews responded quickly, and the injured were taken to nearby hospitals. Authorities say several of the victims are in critical condition.
Iran records nearly 17,000 road deaths each year, with officials citing aging vehicles, poor enforcement of safety regulations and limited emergency response infrastructure as contributing factors.
