A 29-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly driving his car into a crowd outside The Vermont Hollywood nightclub in East Hollywood, injuring at least 30 people, authorities said.
Police say the suspect had been removed from the venue earlier for disruptive behavior. Around 2 a.m., he returned and drove a gray Nissan Versa onto the sidewalk, striking people waiting in line. A taco cart and valet stand were also hit.
Seven victims are in critical condition, and six others sustained serious injuries. The driver was pulled from the vehicle and attacked by bystanders before being shot. He remains hospitalized and is undergoing surgery.
Investigators believe the crash may have been intentional. The LAPD is also searching for the man suspected of shooting the driver, described as a Hispanic male wearing a blue jersey and carrying a silver revolver
