China’s Foreign Ministry has confirmed that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa will visit Beijing this week for the 25th China-EU Summit.
The two leaders are scheduled to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and co-chair the summit alongside Premier Li Qiang on Thursday, according to the ministry’s statement.
The high-level meeting is expected to focus on trade, global security, and diplomatic ties amid ongoing tensions between Brussels and Beijing.
