FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – The Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs has been authorized to issue digital nomad visas, enabling foreign nationals to temporarily reside and work remotely in the country.
The move, driven by President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos’ executive order, aims to boost tourism and the economy by providing a legal framework for digital nomads.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, demonstrate remote work capabilities, earn income outside the Philippines, and have a clean criminal record.
Known for its scenic destinations and lower cost of living, the Philippines is growing as a top spot for remote workers.
The World Economic Forum ranked the Philippines as the seventh fastest-growing remote work hub globally in 2023, solidifying its appeal to the digital nomad community.
