Cyprus is among the countries contributing financially to address the humanitarian crisis in Sudan, as part of a wider European mobilization exceeding €811 million.

During the third International Conference on Sudan in Berlin, the European Union and its member states — along with international partners including the United States, the United Kingdom and the African Union — announced significant funding to respond to the deteriorating situation in the country.

Sudan has been engulfed in a severe humanitarian emergency since fighting erupted in April 2023 between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces.

The conflict has displaced millions, devastated infrastructure, cut off access to food and medical care, and left large parts of the population facing acute hunger. International agencies describe it as one of the world’s fastest‑growing humanitarian crises, with limited access for aid workers and escalating needs across the region.
