PAPHOS — The water supply in Paphos is secure through 2026, regardless of weather conditions, Agriculture Ministry Director General Andreas Gregoriou has said.
Speaking at the 5th Panayia Harvest Festival, Gregoriou said the ministry is in the final phase of its efforts to prevent water cuts, even as the new hydrological year begins. He expressed optimism that rainfall will exceed last year’s drought levels.
“Our goal is to avoid any reductions in water supply,” Gregoriou said, adding that desalination units under construction will ensure uninterrupted access to drinking water in the district.
He also said the ministry is planning and coordinating efforts to prevent water shortages across Cyprus.
