FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE — The Statistical Service has published its bimonthly bulletin “Monthly Economic Developments” for January-April 2025, highlighting key trends in the Cyprus economy.
Manufacturing production rose by 3.3 percent in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.
Building permits authorized in January 2025 totaled 189,900 square meters, marking a 4.2 percent decline from January 2024.
Motor vehicle registrations fell by 8.3 percent to 16,133 between January and April 2025. Private saloon car registrations dropped by 12 percent, while light goods vehicles saw a slight increase of 1.3 percent.
The Consumer Price Index rose by 1.5 percent during the first four months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.
Imports of goods reached €4.356 billion, up 18.9 percent, while exports totaled €1.743 billion, reflecting a 45.1 percent increase.
Tourist arrivals surged by 15.6 percent, reaching 865,326 visitors between January and April 2025, compared to 748,814 in the same period of 2024.
