BRUSSELS – The European Commission has approved the disbursement of nearly €34 million to support the Turkish Cypriot community this year under the European Union’s aid program.

The funding is aimed at promoting socio-economic development and facilitating efforts toward the reunification of Cyprus.

Since the program’s launch in 2006, the EU has allocated approximately €760 million to initiatives supporting the community.

The 2025 package will focus on improving trade across the Green Line, upgrading vocational skills, and backing small businesses.

Additional support will go toward education, renewable energy projects, and cultural heritage restoration, as well as ongoing efforts by the Committee on Missing Persons.
