Cyprus’ imports fell in December 2025 while exports rose sharply, according to provisional data from the Statistical Service.
December 2025 (Provisional) Total imports reached €1.204 billion, down 13.1% from €1.386 billion in December 2024. Imports from EU member states amounted to €789.3 million, while imports from third countries totaled €415.1 million, compared with €703.4 million and €682.7 million respectively a year earlier.
The December figures include €218.3 million in vessel transfers, down from €337.4 million in December 2024.
Total exports rose to €490.5 million, up 30.5% from €376.0 million in December 2024.
Exports to the EU reached €182.7 million, while exports to third countries totaled €307.8 million, compared with €97.0 million and €279.0 million respectively in December 2024.
Exports included €130.1 million in vessel transfers, compared with €51.4 million a year earlier.
January–December 2025 (Final) For the full year, imports increased 7.7% to €13.55 billion, up from €12.58 billion in 2024. Exports rose 7.0% to €5.55 billion, compared with €5.19 billion in 2024.
The trade deficit widened to €8.00 billion in 2025, from €7.40 billion the previous year.
