FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Project Season Women, in collaboration with Animafest Cyprus and the Austrian Embassy in Nicosia, is presenting The Blind Spot, an immersive theatrical and film showcase highlighting women’s stories through new plays and animated short films.
The event features excerpts from six plays by Cypriot women playwrights alongside animated films by international women filmmakers.
Vienna’s Tricky Women/Tricky Realities animation festival director Waltraud Grausgruber has curated the animation segment and will open the event with an introduction titled Curating through the Lens of Gender.
Following the May 24 performance, Austrian Ambassador Susanne Bachfischer will host a reception.
Performances will be held on May 23, 24, 25, and 27 at 8 p.m. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster Cyprus.
The event is sponsored by the Department of Contemporary Culture / Deputy Ministry of Culture and is under the auspices of the Austrian Embassy in Nicosia.
